BRETT KLEASE
For a somewhat late starter in the trade Brett has more than made up for it in the last six years. He is probably the most “in demand” actor in the region by every professional and semi professional company. He has had a meteoric rise, which shows no signs of abating.
PETER MOORE
Peter Moore is a qualified primary school teacher and a professional actor. He has been the consummate journeyman for twenty years and is equally at home in Theatre, Film or TV. The backbone of any ensemble. He has recently appeared as the lead in the full length movie “Convictions”.
RUBY DREWERY
Ruby has just recently completed her Bachelor of Creative Industries at Queensland University of Technology, with sub-majors in Creative and Professional Writing and Film Studies. Ruby is the whole package and is widely regarded as the finest actor of her generation working on the Sunshine Coast.
BRAD THOMSON
Brad Thomson is like O+ blood. He is the universal donor. He can slip effortlessly into any production, size up what is required and deliver accordingly. Considering the depth of our ensemble the fact that Brad has been in five of the last six productions tells in what regard he is held.
RACHEL FENTIMAN
Rachel Fentiman represents the versatility of emerging artists. Her bow has many strings on it apart from just acting. Being a true child of the digital revolution she can create, play and record her own music, she is an amazing digital photographer and still has time for dance and art.
PETER MERRILL
After twenty-five years Peter finally graduated university as a high school drama teacher. What took so long? Nothing apart from detours through NIDA, State Theatre Companies, hosting a national children’s TV show for 5 years, featuring in twenty movies, running his own Street Theatre Company, writing and recording children’s CD’s, writing musicals and freelance songwriting for the ABC.
AGI GOULTER
Agi, like Kali, Ruby & Rachel, has been successfully fostered through the ranks of “Random Acts” (SRT’s Community Wing) over the last decade. Working with talent is great, working with talent you’ve watched emerge is awesome. Great actor with a flair for the Visual Arts.
PAUL CLEMENT
Paul is one of the finest guitarists and musicians that this country has ever produced. Whether it is being the principle guitarist for Tony O’Connor at the Sydney Opera House through to his two solo CD’s (“Bottl’ful” & “Crossing Oceans”) his work is always held in the highest critical acclaim.
STEPH JAYNE
Steph received her professional operatic training at the University of New Zealand. She also teaches singing to individuals and choirs. Her own choir “Sweet Chilli” is highly respected in the area. She can act and she can sing. Again, shows the depth of the ensemble.
HOWARD TAMPLING
Howard works as a technician for a major television network. He also has worked professionally in Radio. He is quite at home behind or in front of a camera, on stage or in a studio, engineering sound or engineering his performance. Good all-rounder for any ensemble.
WAYNE POWRIE
Wayne is a builder by trade so he tends to look at a production as a cultural and artistic job site. He also understands the artistic temperament. A rare man indeed. If the world was to go pear shaped tomorrow he would fix it up with a screw gun and some gaff tape, and still be smiling.
FERGUS REILLY
Fergus, or Dr Fergus Reilly (Computer Engineering, Edingburgh Uni) to use his correct title, is a great person to have in any ensemble. One of the many people we have who know that the fusion of digital processors and hearts and bones can create brilliance. Quite a useful actor as well.
JENNI McCAUL
Jenni, like Jane Rivers, has been responsible for SRT forging strong links with the Noosa area. Jenni has worked continually for both “Theatre “S” and SRT and other varied professional groups for the last five years and is very much in demand for her honest approach to her stagecraft.
STEPHEN MOORE
Stephen has his own exciting and semi professional company, Theatre “S”. He has been a working colleague and friend of Simon Denver’s for many years. SRT and Theatre “S” have a great working relationship that will only get stronger in the future. Stephen is a good actor and a great producer.
JANE RIVERS
Jane, like Jenni McCaul, has brought a wealth of talent into our ensemble. She is a very respected actress with a high profile on the Sunshine Coast. She is highly motivated and dedicated to her art which explains why she is always appearing in the more professional productions in the area.
KIRSTEN CASH
Kirsten is a photographer and ceramic artist who brings both a critical and creative eye to the artistic forum that drives the company. She also keeps an immaculate photographic record of every project. Along with Rachel Fentiman she is responsible for most of the publicity shots.
CHRIS SURPLICE
Chris is not only a qualified primary school teacher but has also been classically trained in voice at Queensland’s Conservatorium of Music. When I asked him what to put in this bio he simply said, ”My dear boy, don’t bore them with endless lists of my stunning and stupendous achievements. Just put down “Best Actor and Singer – Ever”
